Getting to the Show and Other Important Information

Directions and Parking

The Aylsham Show takes place on the Blickling Estate near Aylsham. The address for sat navs is:

Blickling Estate, Blickling, Norfolk, NR11 6NF

Please follow the AA signposted routes on Show Day. These will clearly direct you off the road into the showground. The Show Committee have tried very hard to take steps to improve the traffic flow to keep queues and waiting times to an acceptable level.

From the Norwich Airport, traffic can use the Cromer Road and come through Aylsham Town Centre but the alternative route below is preferable.

Alternatively come down the Holt Road and from the roundabout just past Woodrows garage, you will be directed towards the Saxthorpe roundabout and back again up the Blickling Road. This keeps traffic on a main road and assuming no holdups would be about 15 minutes from the first roundabout to Blickling.

All exhibitors and competitors should keep in the right hand lane and would be expected to be on the showground by 8.30am. Admission gates open at 8am and after this time the traffic will be mainly public and members, and on entering the showground you will be in two lanes and please keep moving at all times. At the first junction where stewards are present, the right hand lane will continue forwards and the left hand lane will turn left.

Car parking is free and the stewards will guide you to parking either in the Members or Public car parks. There should be no need to stop and you should be showing your vehicle pass on your windscreen.

Showground Map

Like to plan ahead? Our printable, easy-to-read showground map shows exactly what’s where, from trade stands to livestock rings. This is currently just a guide as this map will change. On Show Day there will be a large tv screen in the middle of the Showground which will detail the site more clearly and also provide other information about the Show. All visitors will be given a Showday leaflet when they enter the Show, and this is kindly sponsored by Norfolk Hideaways.

Accessible Parking

Please display your badge prominently and the car parking team will try to give you forward parking, close to the main entrance gate. There are no separate disabled badges for the Show.

Early arrival may be wise.

Please be aware that there are no hard surfaces at the showground with mainly grass walkways and some uneven car parking surfaces. Please take care with wheelchairs and mobility scooters particularly in the event of wet weather. There will be an accessible viewing section adjacent to the Main Ring.

Places to Stay

Coming to the show from far away? Discover more about beautiful and local places to stay with Norfolk Hideaways.

Lost Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy

The Aylsham Agricultural Show Association has its own Children and Vulnerable Adults (Safeguarding) Policy which you can find here. You will also find this at the bottom of the Home Page under Policies, where you will also find the Equality and Diversity, and Privacy Policies.

The designated location for lost children is the Administration and Finance Marquee, adjacent to the Main Ring, and very near to the Members Enclosure Entrance. If lost children are found, please contact a Show steward immediately.

All Show stewards have been instructed as to the procedures in the case of a lost child or vulnerable adult.

Show Rules re Dogs, Smoking and Photographs

Well behaved dogs are permitted at the Show, but unless part of a display, must be kept on leads and any fouling cleared up. Water bowls, Dog poo and General bins will be available and marked on the Showground. Please, particularly if the weather is hot, do not leave dogs unattended in vehicles to overheat.  IMPORTANT: On veterinary advice, we strongly recommend that you do not bring flat faced breeds, such as bulldogs, to the Show as even the slightest  of warm weather can be detrimental to their health.

Smoking on the Showground only allowed in designated areas and well away from any inflammable items such as straw, gas cylinders/etc.

No climbing on  machinery and equipment on Stands or anywhere else without Standholders or Stewards permission.

Do not venture under or climb any trees.

Please wash hands in receptacles or toilets provided if you have touched any livestock, before eating and drinking.

Photographs will be taken at the Show which may be used for website and social media advertising (Facebook and Instagram). If you are also interacting directly with these platforms please do take the appropriate care. Parents not wishing images of their child under 16 to be included in any of these photos, please email:  [email protected]  and they will be removed from the relevant sites.

Registered Carers

It is the Show policy to allow a registered carer in free if looking after a child, or only charge for one person if looking after an adult. It is very helpful to the staff on the gates, if the carer’s ID or other relevant evidence can be shown.

Show Buggies and Land Train

The Aylsham Show provides a land train and a number of ‘golf buggies’ to transfer disabled and less mobile visitors from the main entrance gate to key areas of the Show. Look out also for the Land Train stops when you enter the showground after coming through the main admission and members entrance gates.

These are kindly sponsored by Norfolk Bluebell Wood Burial Park.

There will be two buggies specifically to take people from the admission gate to and back from the Food Market and nearby picnic area.

RevolOOtion - A Vehicle for Change

Previously known as the Mobiloo Vehicle, it will be on site again this year. This is a unique facility with electric hoist, toilet, sink, changing table, and for breast feeding/etc.
