Aylsham Band

In 1928, a group of Salvatian Army musicians formed the Aylsham Fellowship Band and in 1939 was renamed the Aylsham Silver Band and was kept going by the tireless efforts of those not called up for war service.

Now known as the Aylsham Band, they do many concerts and have performed for the late Queen Elizabeth 11 and also in the presence of the Duke of Kent for Cromer Lifeboat. A gala concert was held at St Michaels Church Aylsham to celebrate the 60th Anniversary which was compered by Helen McDermott of Anglia TV.

The Band, conducted by Clive Cordukes, rehearses every thursday evening from 7.30pm in the Drill Hall, Cawston Road, Aylsham NR11 6BX. They have a range of instruments which are loaned to players, and welcome any new members of any ability even if only in Norfolk for a short while.
